Paris - France, March 11th, 2009, The Celtic Initiative organised its fourth official event on 11th and 12th of March 2009 at the Marriott Hotel (Rive Gauche) in Paris. The Event was target to decision makers, managers, and technical experts from telecommunications industry, operators, and academia.

HDViper had the opportunity to show the current project status, and the available results and developments. Running throughout the whole event in the HDViper booth was a live demo of a 3-party videoconference. Two FullHD cameras together with two large 52" LCD screens accompanied by a USB webcam and a 24" LCD monitor were used.

The demo showed the potential and the flexibility of the HDViper platform. It featured incorporation of different video formats and codecs and seamless transition between them in a single videoconferencing session.

Poznan - Poland, June 16th till 19th, 2009, Poznan International Fair organised ITM Poland fair from 16th till 19th of June 2009. ITM Poland is the largest fair in Central-Eastern Europe dedicated to the latest industrial technologies. The equipment presented belong to the most modern in their class. Fair visitors had many opportunities to see prototypes of machines and devices not yet produced anywhere in the world. These innovations would not have been possible without scientific research. The Research for Industry exhibition was a platform for bringing research together with industry.

HDViper had the opportunity to run a live videoconference demo through the whole event in the PSNC booth. Two FullHD cameras together with two large 52" LCD screens were used.

The demo showed that HD videoconferencing using consumer market hardware is possible today, thanks to the HDViper platform. Different video formats and codecs were used to show that improvements in either bandwith capacity or raw CPU power can be utilised to enrich a videoconferencing session with higher video quality.

Just like at ITM Poland in June, HDViper had the opportunity to run a live videoconference demo through the whole event in the PSNC booth. Two FullHD cameras together with two large 52" LCD screens were used.

The demo showed the potential and the openness of the HDViper platform as a software solution for HD videoconferencing. Multiple video formats and codecs were shown. The demo run successfully through the whole event showing improved feeling of presence thanks to HD video resolution.
